Questions

The short answers. The long ones are on the data page.

Can Ghostifier read my emails?

It can't open your messages or attachments. It sees only the sender, subject line and date of each email, plus any unsubscribe link in the header. That's enough to recognize the companies.

What does Ghostifier keep?

A list of the companies it found and a few dates, like when they last emailed you. Once requests go out, it also keeps each letter and the replies companies send back, encrypted so only you can read them, until 30 days after a request finishes. You can delete them sooner. It doesn't store your emails. Everything it holds is visible in Settings, and you can delete it all in one step.

Does it send anything without my say-so?

No. After the first scan you see every company and what Ghostifier plans to do about it, and nothing goes out until you say go. You can also approve each company yourself. After that, new companies follow the settings you chose, and the default asks you before anything is deleted.

Who contacts the companies?

Ghostifier does, from its own address, on your behalf. You give Ghostifier written permission once, when you pick a plan.

Will companies email me directly?

Often, yes, especially for deletions. Many companies write to the address on your account to check that a request is really yours. Some ask you to reply, and some send a link to finish it yourself, like an account's delete button. It's common and it doesn't mean anything went wrong. Ghostifier sees that an email like that arrived and shows it in Needs you, but it can't read your email or answer from your address. Open it, do what it says, then mark it done.

Will it delete my Spotify or Discord account?

No. Ghostifier never deletes household names like Google, Spotify and Discord. It can still unsubscribe you from their marketing and ask them to stop selling your data, as your settings say.
